EU!

Thu 25th March 2010

Since our last post, we took a little bit of a break from playing live to write new songs and mend our raw, aching bodies. Having patched up our wounds, we headed back out on tour this month for the first time in what felt like 100 years.

Firstly, shows in aberdeen, edinburgh and glasgow and then a European tour with Los Campesinos! Needless to say, we’ve returned with our minds fully blown and can’t wait to return to the mainland! Anyway, here are a few pictures from our travels – hopefully there’ll be some video footage up here in the next week or so too!

Thank you to everyone who watched us play, interviewed us, took photos, said hello and gave us wine! Thanks also to gareth, ollie, neil, tom, ellen, rob, harriot, kim, jason, cerri and paul for having us along for the ride!

RIP 2009

Tue 22nd December 2009

It’s the end of the year! What the flippin’ heck happened? I still remember thinking how weird it was to be saying & writing 2009 instead of 2008. Still, 2010 sounds so much cooler than it’s predecessor, so let’s focus on the fact that soon we’ll all be riding hover boards to work and taking holidays on the moon, RIGHT!? Anyway, i thought it might be relatively interesting to tally up some facts relating to OUR 2009. (ok, so it’s obviously not going to be all that interesting, but lets pretend..)

We managed to play by my count, a total of 94 Shows. We played/toured with Johnny Foreigner, Calories, The Xcerts, Wonderswan, Findo Gask, Dananananaykroyd, Good Shoes, Sky Larkin, Sparky Deathcap and Los Campesinos – all of whom we have become really great friends with (to be fair, some already were…).

Somehow, through the kindness and blind faith of a select few (Kev D! Paul R!) we were able to put out both a 5-track EP (big scary monsters) and a 7″single (too pure). In doing so we encountered Ross Mcgowen at Chime, Steven Ward, Paul Savage at Chem19 and Alex Wharton at Abbey Road. All, bar none, were amazing to work with, and top notch blokes to-boot!

Also, and most importantly, our friends Jason and Stacey at The Art Of… have been managing us, booking our shows and doing our press – without them, it’s fair to say this band probably wouldn’t exist.

ANYWAY, 2010 beckons – and we’re stumbling backwards into it with a pretty hefty sense of optimism. We have a few relatively exiting things lined up and a long list of things we want to ‘achieve’. Fingers crossed, we’ll be releasing lots of new music, visiting places we’ve only seen in films and sitting in rental vans for long periods of time. For now, we’re going to enjoy christmas and new year, as best we can – hope you’re doing the same!

Massive props, from an icy north east coast, Joe

November Playlist

Tue 10th November 2009

We’ve never bothered doing things like spotify playlists before, but seeing as it’s far too cold to venture outside, i’ve put together a little compilation to keep you entertained.

Here’s the URL; http://open.spotify.com/user/joehaho/playlist/3Jti0mIpmeghkNIGxeaRwK

Enjoy! J

p.s. a lot of what i wanted to include wasn’t available, so, also check out Real Estate, Erics Trip, Little Wings and The Bloggers.

group

We’ve just arrived back in Stonehaven having completed a string of UK shows with Los Campesinos! and Sparky Deathcap. It was by far THE BEST TOUR we’ve ever been involved with and we’d like to thank LC! for having us along for the ride! Mini filmed a bunch of junk, so hopefully some kind of semi-descriptive tour video will appear very soon. Also, massive, massive thanks to gav glove for helping us out – go team!
